The Process

The process of hand building each Firepot starts with the production of the specially formulated clay, involving large mixing tanks and compression chambers. The clay is then spiral wedged by hand to extract any air pockets. The Firepot is then hand thrown in three seperate pieces on a traditional potters wheel, which are all joined a week later. The effect is applied as the Firepot stands to dry over the next month. Each Firepot is then flame fired in a kiln to high temperature stoneware.
